Contrary to the comments I’ve been getting, I must set it straight that I actually believe in love. What I frown at in the whole love stories these days are the motives which are mostly unreal and temporary and also, the issue of unreciprocated love.
Bankole had a lived most of his campus days as a hardcore player tricking girls into loving him and breaking their hearts in the end after benefits must have been shared. He never believed in any kind of love, not even the fable ‘love at first sight’. This kind of life was interesting until karma caught up with him – he met a girl named Dunni and he became a victim of cupid, “damned cupid, always bending the bow towards the wrong man”. While he was making his love known to Dunni, another man called Emeka pops up and begins to act love to Dunni like every Mr. Right would do – buying gifts, staying on the phone for long, texting late nights, spending time with her. It became a game of who knew how to care more, Bankole who had been a player all the days of his life too knew what it cost to keep a girl and also began his own show of love. While Bankole and Emeka were creating time for Dunni, she was in turn creating time for both of them at different hours of the day, now she was the player!
To cut the story short, someone had to get her attention fully and permanently so they had a face off since gifts couldn’t do it anymore.
In my opinion, I do not think any girl is worthy fighting over even if the girl is the most beautiful girl in the world. Not even the Bankole and Emeka (my close guys) that I know will try such. It is either the girl is in love with you or in love with the other, if your love isn’t reciprocated fully you don’t need to fight. Believe me, if you fight your fellow dude over girl, it simply means you want to fight and not because of love.
In the end, my friend will say there are many fishes in the river so why kill yourself to catch a shark when there are tilapias, geishas, dolphins even whales to catch. To check if I’m wrong, I’ll bring a lady on the blog next week and ask her how she’ll feel to have boys fight over her meanwhile you all need to obey the commandment “thou shall not fight”.
