OKAY, THIS IS THE 120TH POST ON THIS BLOG AND I’LL BE SHARING MY THOUGHTS NOT ON FALLING IN LOVE BUT THAT SPLIT-SECOND MOMENT BEFORE YOU FALL
True. It is better you fall on a soft bed than on a hard heart
I started loving the whole topic on love not because I’m in love or something, rather, after reading so many works written during the renaissance, what the historical students refer to as the early modern period.
These days, people fall in love like it’s a booster for your curriculum vitae; don’t get me wrong – I’m not saying falling in love is not a good thing, that is, if it is reciprocated. An unappreciated love isn’t worth it at all.
It is no news that people fall in love for different reasons these days: good looks, first sight, heavy pockets, good character, enviable background to name a few. However, the mistake we make is before falling in love with a girl or falling in love with a guy (for the girls) for whatever reason be sure the person is ready for your fall or else you’ll be having a bad landing; you will so crash!
Our grandparents will tell our mothers back then, “don’t worry, love will come as you live together” – even if it’s true, it practically means pieces of the broken body will be gathered up to heal and form after one party might have had a bad landing because the other party didn’t stretch out his or her hands with every strength within to catch the other party while he or she was falling in love.
I know how painful it can be when one dude falls in love and the babe isn’t ready to stretch out her hands to catch him, or how it kills the soul when the babe falls in love and the dude isn’t willing to stretch out his hands to catch her. Now imagine if the dude is pretending to love – it will mean the dude stretched out his hands to make the babe believe and withdraw his hands after a while. She will still be having a bad landing and that will hurt even more.
So, just before you fall in love, I’m talking about that split-second moment before your heart takes over from your head, try asking yourself if your love is going to be reciprocated, if the dude or the babe is willing to stretch his or her hands and not pretend to. It is better not to fall at all than to fall and crash. This reminds me of my friend who keeps saying: “Why fall in love when you can fall asleep?”
True. It is better you fall on a soft bed than on a hard heart.
