[SONG. THE PARTING NOTICE]
The truth thrusts,
A lie kills trust,
We once had peace,
Then we were once at ease.
Suddenly the smiles became unreal,
Then the hugs of feelings less ideal,
Every surprise turned to regret,
Every sacrifice turned a reject.
I tried not to make it flop,
You claimed to make it up,
Your actions betrayed your words,
Like Iscariot to our Lord.
Further apart, our hearts drifted,
Unreturned calls, unreplied texts, our love wilted,
All bridges burnt,
Today, our love is ceased – those wasted months!
ADEFIDIPE SAMUEL (2013)
There is much sadness in the heart of a lady who had fought so much to make her love for her lover not wither. She failed in making the bond strong and so she gave up on her lover and decided to move ahead, therefore the song – the parting notice!
In every relationship, there is always a beginning that is so smooth, that time when the ship sailed on the sea with no storm. The beginning of every storm is distrust which arises from many lies, the moment when the truth could kill the relationship – the truth thrusts. The lady tries to please her lover and bring him back to love her with many romantic surprises and lovely sacrifices; however, these are not welcomed – the man’s heart is away already, this you can tell from the hugs and smiles. The things that play the game of a wilting love are words – promises! With all hopes directed at the promise, the lady tries within her strenght to build their love again but no she is betrayed – “Your actions betrayed your words like Iscariot to our Lord”.
Finally, her parting notice is come. She cannot go on with pretence for it is obvious hearts are beginning to drift further apart – for several actions, she chose to give up. Howbeit, nothing pains a lady giving up on loving a man than the wasted months.
God bless love, for with thou one conquereth fear.
